When I was 19 or 20 (late 90s) I owned this one album called “Curtains” by a group called Tindersticks. No one around had ever heard of them, and I think I got their CD from a sales pile at the local San Diego record store. I think.
Because I don’t remember how it came into my possession. I don’t remember being given it or any ex-boyfriend being into them. But this “Curtains” CD? I had it on repeat forever. I remember looking them up on whatever internet there was in the late 90s, and finding nothing. Well, now we know what 1998 internet was like, I’m not surprised. But I completely forgot about this CD. Until the YouTube algorithm. Listening to this album gives me shivers and vague memories of youthful longing.
